In the last few years, I have noticed a lack of liturgical material for special worship celebrations outside of the regular lectionary resources. These special worship celebrations are not universally observed around the planet. Such events as recognition of fatherhood or the US celebration of Independence Day are examples.
Today, I will post some materials I am developing for July 28th. This will be the Sunday that our church will spend some time recognizing the upcoming US Independence Day (July 4th).
While it is appropriate to recognize these special times in local congregational worship. The material may not be usable or appropriate in another cultural setting. Then there are seasonal holidays that most places in the world recognize, but perhaps not on the same days.
I will include from time to time materials that I use in my local church that may or may not be appropriate for use at the time of publication. However, feel free to use any materials here published as long as you give credit to the authors.
Also, please feel free to publish materials appropriate for your local seasonal needs. Also, feel free to send materials in all languages. I would request, however, that you include an English or French translation when possible. These languages are used internationally and known by a large number of those who use this blog.

(A) Why did you think Article original thought?
This particular article is an explaination of the liturgies I have written for special hollidays. The litergies are mine, because I wrote them. As for being ‘original thought?’ That is unlikely. The liturgies are based upon traditional theology. They are based upon Biblical texts some of which are over two thousand years old. The essays are based upon my experience and education. I like to think that my approach to old subjects is freash and unique.
If you ,or anyone else, wishes to take issue with any of the concepts presented here, please make a comment. It is the dialoge on these subjects I bring up that I long for and for which I have established this blog. If you have a liturgy that you yourself have written that you would like to contribut, you are invited to do so. Just be sure to place your name with the contribution.
