Morning Prayer for Pentecost 16B 2009
Guide us to a better way of thinking. Steer us away from that dark world that would have us dead to a vision of what you have made possible for us.
Guide us to a better way of thinking. Steer us away from that dark world that would have us dead to a vision of what you have made possible for us.
Yet, we are never far from the evil one. We fail to watch what we say. We say things we wish we could take back. We use words that destroy and hurt others. Our anger, frustration or hate is expressed in inappropriate ways.
In our relationships within the community in which we live, help us to be able to act out the ways you have set out in example. Help us to love our neighbors with no regard for favoritism.
O Lord, bring us to terms with your law. Help us to understand the purpose of it. As we search the universe for understanding of your creation, we find a depth of purpose and meaning.
O Lord just as the Israelites gathered around their Ark of the Covenant, we now gather around this alter.
Help us to not take for granted of all that has been put into our hands to care for and benefit from.
Renew our vision of a world of accomplishment by guiding us to more valiant endeavors.
Do you understand: Our anger? Our greed? Our jealousies?
