Responsive Call to Worship for the Seventh Sunday after Pentecost B 2009

Based upon Mark 6:30-34, 53-56

Leader:  We live in a world of hungry people.

People:  Who is hungry?

Leader:  The impoverished.

People:  Where are they?

Leader:  All over the world and in our own communities.  Everywhere people are hungry.

People:  What are they hungry for?

Leader:  Food, both for nourishment of their bodies and their souls.

People:  What can we do?

Leader:  Feed them.

People:  With what?

Leader:  Do what Jesus’ disciples did.  Take what you have to Jesus.

Unison:  Lord Jesus, we need your help.  There are the hungry of the world, and we do not know what to do for them.  We are reminded of what you did for the five thousand on the shores of the Lake of Galilee.   Help us help your people.  They need food for their bodies and their souls.  Give us the faith to share our bounty and disburse it to those in need.  Amen.
