Based upon Deuteronomy 4:1-9
This is truly a holy place, with the Alter, laden with the gifts you have for us. Just as the kings of old would have before their thrones the gifts displayed for their guests on special days, Jesus has placed his gifts before us that we may take them and use them according to his wishes and command. The bread placed here represents the sacrifice and pain he suffered on the Cross for us. The wine represents his willingness to give whatever it takes to make us free from the death and oppression of sin. As we partake, let us renew our vow to dedicate our lives to His service.
