Based upon James 2:1-17
Leader: We gather here to worship on this Labor Day weekend.
People: We have different gifts.
Leader: But all are equal in the eyes of God.
People: Some of us have more influence in this world than others.
Leader: But all are equal in the eyes of God.
People: Some of us have more money than others.
Leader: But all are equal in the eyes of God.
People: Some of us feel insignificant and powerless.
Leader: But all are equal in the eyes of God. Let us pray together.
Unison: Dear Lord God, as we worship together, give us the awareness of our equality in your favor. Make us aware of each other’s needs. Help us to learn to love each other as brothers and sisters, respecting each other’s dreams and aspirations. As we work together in our various labors, give us a renewed commitment to your service. This we pray as Jesus taught us. Our Father….
