Offering Meditation for Pentecost 14B & Labor Day Weekend 2009

Based upon James 2:1-17

On this Labor Day weekend, we focus our attention upon the work each of does in our everyday lives.  Each of us has a different set of talents that we use daily so that we might have an income large enough to provide for our needs.  These needs are an important part of the purpose for these various jobs we have.  But there is an even more important dimension of purpose for our labors.  It is to serve our Lord and Savior through the support of His kingdom.  It is that our labor should bring God’s Kingdom to earth.  That the prophesies might be realized sooner rather than later.  Let us share the fruit of our labor in our offerings to God!
