Based upon James 2:1-17
The Loaf
Gracious God, as we prepare ourselves for this important time of sharing, let us put aside personal differences that we might have with each other, and join in this great union of believers as we partake of the loaf that represents your body broken for us. As Jesus gave of himself without reserve for our well being, let us commit the Labor Day Weekend to focus our labors on the serving of those around us, sharing your love and compassion on all who will receive it. Amen.
The Wine
Dear Lord, as we take of this wine that represents the life that flowed though Jesus. Let that life flow through us. Lift us to a new and fresh realization of the gift of life Jesus gave so freely. Renew in us a determination to labor for the coming of your kingdom on earth. Amen
