Responsive Call to Worship and Invocation for the Tenth Sunday after Pentecost B 2009

Based upon Ephesians 4:25 – 5:2

Leader:  It is good to be in the house of God.

People:  We bring all of our troubles and conflicts before our Lord.

Leader:  Place all your burdens upon the Alter of the Most High.

People:  We have our angers, and our frustrations.

Leader:  Place them in God’s capable hands as you worship.

People:  We have our guilt and our shame.

Leader:  Place them in God’s capable hands as you pray together.

Unison:  God of love and compassion, we come bringing the baggage of our lives.  We carry with us the guilt and shame of many trespasses.  We are angry and frustrated about our struggles to survive in this world.  Help us in this service to open our hearts to you and be cleansed of the burdens of sin and suffering.  This we pray as Jesus taught us to pray.  Our Father….
